The BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre), is India’s premier nuclear research facility headquartered in Trombay, Mumbai, Maharashtra. It is a multi-disciplinary research centre with extensive infrastructure for advanced research and development covering the entire spectrum of nuclear science, engineering, and related areas. It manages all facets of nuclear power generation, from the theoretical design of reactors to, computer modelling and simulation, risk analysis, development and testing of new reactor fuel, materials, etc. 

Your role

Online applications are invited from eligible Indian Citizens for filling up various Posts of Constituent Units of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) through the Direct Recruitment / Training Scheme.

The nature of duties to be performed by the candidates on appointment involves working in round-the-clock shift duties, in operational plants and areas.

Training & development

Scope and period of Training:

• Selected candidates will be given two years of training at various DAE Units situated across the country as per requirements in various aspects of relevant disciplines/trades, as per prescribed syllabi of each discipline/trade and for meeting stringent requirements of the Department.
• The candidates will not have any choice/option for any particular training programme/training place.

Grade after Successful Completion of Training:

• Grade after Successful Completion of Training Upon successful completion of training, trainees will be considered for absorption in the following grade at the time of appointment depending on their performance during the period of training and the interview to be held at the end of the training.

Salary & benefits

For Scientific Assistant/B:

• As per the Company's rules, the remuneration package for those under Level 6 in Pay Matrix entry pay is around INR 35,400. Plus allowances as admissible under Central Government Rules.

All Promotions of all Scientific and Technical personnel of BARC and DAE are based on merit. The promotion scheme, therefore, is known as, the "Merit-Based Promotion Scheme". Starting your career as a young Scientific Officer C (in Pay Band-III) these merit-based promotions can take you to the level of Distinguished Scientist (in HAG) or Apex Scale.

About You

Qualification:

Online applications are invited for the post of Scientific Assistant/B in the following discipline with educational qualifications from a recognized University of Central or State Government. Candidates undergoing/completed M.Sc. The integrated course shall produce a B.Sc. degree Certificate.

• B.Sc.(Food Technology/ Home Science / Nutrition) - Food Technology / Home Science / Nutrition.

Age Limite:

• The date of Birth filled in by the candidate in the online application form and the same recorded in the Matriculation / Secondary Examination Certificate will be accepted by this Centre for determining the age and no subsequent request for change will be considered or granted.
• For Scientific Assistants age should be between 18 to 30.
• Candidate must have been born not earlier than 23/05/1993 and not later than 22/05/2005.

Copies of certificates:

• Candidates would be required to produce all the relevant following certificates in original along with their copies and print out of the online application at the time of document verification before the Interview / Skill Test.
• The candidates will be solely responsible for furnishing the requisite certificates, failing which their candidature shall be summarily rejected.
• Candidates may also note that their candidature will remain provisional till the verification of the veracity of the documents by the Appointing Authority.

Selection Procedure:

• Selection will be based on performance in the interview. In case, the response is more, this Centre reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview by conducting a Computer Based Screening Test in the concerned discipline on an India basis. The decision of this Centre in this regard will be final.
